First Graders drew and shaded flowers with pencils in an effort to understand light and dark values.

I'm glad that there are people that enjoy looking at my artwork, but I've also had several people email me to let me know that they really enjoy the kid's art, too. The artwork of children (especially first graders) has such a fresh quality to it. They aren't as worried about getting everything perfect and when they sit down to draw, most of them know exactly what they're doing from the very beginning and they already know and believe that they are wonderful artists. There is also a link to this blog from my elementary school's website and several of the children like to check it to see other people's work. For me, this whole blog is all about images I enjoy... whether it's my own art, my kid's art, photographs I take, or people I love... and I hope other people can enjoy them, too. And for those of you that make me laugh every day- I'm sorry that I don't set you up for the "witty banter" the way that Jeff does, but I certainly don't mind seeing it- even when the post is one of my paintings- you don't have to take it seriously or anything, but you may have to be more creative in coming up with something.

are you kidding me? jeff sets us up for witty banter? he had a diagram of a chair. where do you go with that? and now he's done it again. if there is a lack of witty banter found on this blog, it is because we can't keep up with you. you post like 3 times a day. i'm just not that good. but i read them all. i just don't have it in me to comment every time.

and don't forget, the acc tournament starts in 2 hours. state's just got to beat 3 of the best 4 teams, and we've got it in the bag.

and this is something very special just for glen.

how's that for wit?
