Winter Park

Yesterday, Jeff and I went to downtown Winter Park near Rollins College. There is an area of shops within walking distance of a lake, a golf course, and a beautiful, little train station. If you are part of the Lies clan and are planning on attending the reunion in June, we are entertaining the idea of spending our last day there (Saturday) and eating dinner at one of the excellent restaurants there. They have shops like Ann Taylor, GAP, Nicole Miller, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Restoration Hardware, Storehouse, Tuni, Synergy, Bebe, NFX, Shoe Boutique, and many more. There are also several art galleries, coffee shops, candy stores, an antique store, a golf store, and several jewelry stores. Many of the shops are in their original downtown buildings; Pottery Barn is in an old movie theater that was built in 1939. They also have an $8 boat ride that you can take that will give you a tour of Millionaire's Row. It's a beautiful area ... if this sounds like something you're interested in, let me or my parents know. And anyone else that is not attending the Lies family reunion, if you come and visit us, we will still be happy to take you there.

it really isn't that bad of a drive at all... and as I recall we ate at a restaurant that was a good ways away from the hotel when we stayed at the Biltmore. Plus, Jeff and I will both have our cars and can transport up to 8 people (in addition to ourselves)- I think it would be worth it.

Yeah, i know i went overboard... but there will be around 16 people at this family reunion and it's hard to make everyone happy.... so i was really trying to sell the idea of going there on our last night. as you can see, we already have people complaining about how far it is from the hotel everyone will be at. :)
