Job Hunting

Once again, Jeff and I are looking for jobs. I only mention this because someone in Richmond recently contacted me for an interview after seeing my blog, so you never know who happens to be reading. We are hoping to move back to North Carolina and are specifically looking at Raleigh and Greensboro. I've put in applications for all kinds of positions at UNC-G, N.C. State and Meredith (to name a few). If anyone out there knows anyone that needs someone that is artistic, hard-working and EXTREMELY organized, feel free to mention my name!

Hiding by the Light

"Hiding by the Light"

18" x 18"

I started this one a week ago and did some major painting this weekend to get it finished up today. I've sort of hit a painting per week kind of groove- hope it lasts for a little while!

Two Sizes Too Big

"Two Sizes Too Big"

8" x 10"

Purchase Here

I painted this one from a photograph taken when my husband, mother-in-law and I went to feed the ducks at "Swan Lake." There were whole pieces of soggy bread floating around all over the place, and all I could think about was what the bottom of the lake might be like. This boy and his brother were there with their mom, and I had the best time watching them exert all of their strength to throw the bread a few inches. After awhile, I felt compelled to tell them, "If you ball up the bread, you can throw it farther," at which point they began to ball up whole pieces of bread.

Stuart's Stars

"Stuart's Stars"

11" x 14"

Purchase this painting HERE.

This painting is a portrait of one of the kindergarteners I teach. She was dressed up like a fairy for Halloween last year. Our school mascot is a star, which made the costume even more appropriate. The name "Stuart" in the title is not the girl's name, but the name of my school; I teach at J. E. B. Stuart in Richmond, VA. You can view more of my work at windylampson.com.
