When my sister and I were little, we found immense joy in playing with pots and pans. We also enjoyed crawling in and around the kitchen cabinets; I can only hope that my future kids are so easily entertained. One day, my mom decided to do something (maybe her hair?) in another room while leaving my younger sister, Hillary, alone in the kitchen. By the time Mom came back, Hillary had pulled out all sorts of condiments as well as tupperware, but it wasn't the brightly colored Quik or JIF containers that caught my sister's eye. It was a small, modest unmarked container that just HAPPENED to be filled with powdered sugar that she took an interest in opening. Mom walked back in to see a pile of sugar all over the floor and a sticky toddler covered in white and sucking her fingers. I decided to make a drawing to remember the occasion, and here you will find it on a baby-suit. Click HERE to view this image on other items or clothing.

well, it is good to hear from someone again. i was getting worried about you two. that's a very cute shirt. if i had a little baby girl (or knew someone who had one) i'd definitely buy it. i like the simple stuff you've been doing lately. i mean, your paintings and everything are great, but real hand-painted art is so darn expensive for a common working man like myself. but i imagine these drawings take you a lot less time to complete, and i think they look great on the gift shop stuff. have you looked into trying to sell that kind of stuff in stores? a lot of those gift shops that sell stuff like cards and invitations and casual dishes and wedding/baby gifts carry stuff like that. and i think some of it they get from local artists. or a store like the one in goldsboro in coblestone (i forget what it's called). they sell stuff like that.
seastone? is that the store you mean? :) Sorry- that store makes me smile. We were kind of "forced" into registering there because of the amount of people that told my parents they were buying us a wedding gift from there whether we were registered or not. Anyway... thanks for the comment- Yes, they take much less time to do, and as soon as I have a chance, I'll put them up for sale on my website. Are you and Gillian going to be home for thanksgiving?
hmm. that's the one i'm talking about, but i don't think that's the name. seabrook maybe? i don't know. anyway, we didn't register there for our wedding, but still ended up with a bunch of crap from there. and we could only return the crap for store credit, so we ended up with a bunch of that, and nothing to buy with it. we spent most of it on crap christmas presents and then a painting of the paramount theater. which was actually pretty cool, cause then it burned down like 6 months later. and that's where gillian and i first met, so it's a nice painting to have. but anyway, my point isn't to sell things at that store in particular, but just at gift stores in general. it seems like a way to get your work out to a much larger audience. and no, gillian and i will not be home for thanksgiving. but we will be home for christmas this year, and i would really love to get together with everybody some time. so let's make sure we get that all worked out.
i work out at the gym sometimes.
