Two Sizes Too Big

I painted this one from a photograph taken when my husband, mother-in-law and I went to feed the ducks at "Swan Lake." There were whole pieces of soggy bread floating around all over the place, and all I could think about was what the bottom of the lake might be like. This boy and his brother were there with their mom, and I had the best time watching them exert all of their strength to throw the bread a few inches. After awhile, I felt compelled to tell them, "If you ball up the bread, you can throw it farther," at which point they began to ball up whole pieces of bread.

and if you ball it up too tight, it just plunks into the water and sinks.

you have to find a happy medium, really.

Well, to be honest, that's what you get when you try to feed ducks at a ballet.

well noted, strauch. remember the time we tried to feed the ducks at "the rite of spring"? that didn't go so well.

True, although some of those dancers did look a bit malnourished. Maybe we should have thrown whole sandwiches.

it really looks like you painted a huge "VWL" on the painting.

i just wanted to let everyone know that's not really there, nor will it be if you decide to purchase it.

there will be, however, a giant "JEFF IS AWESOME!" painted on the top.

...sorry windy
